After this month of an amazing holiday at the beach,eating sea food, drinking champagne and dancing at my beloved Olivia Valere, it’s time to go back to work. It looked really hard to take back the rutine of going to work, then french lessons and then post some good news in the blog, but when I saw the action that I’m going to tell you I felt the need of starting the new season of MG Luxury News.
Inspiring themselves in all the social media platforms that exist now a days (WhatsApp, Snapchat, Facebook…), Prada’s Miu Miu sponsors the creation of an app that changes how consumers communicate digitally. The director of “Somebody” (the app’s name) is Miranda July.
To spread this action they created a movie called Miu Miu Women’s Tale, which you can see in YouTube or in their website. Throughout the movie, many of the characters wear Miu Miu clothing, including the jacket fought over in the second scenario, along with street-wear and vintage clothing. This provides product placement that fits into the story. To create interaction with the film, an actual app was created on the same premise as the movie. Consumers are encouraged to download it at the end of the film.
I find the video really funny and well structured. I think Miu Miu took a step further sponsoring this kind of actions, which suits very well the image of the brand: Young, alternative and trendy. The only problem for the moment, is that it’s just available for iphones, not Androids yet!
